At 1:05pm PSD, Thursday, December 20, 2018 – The White House Signed the 2018 Farm Bill
FEDERAL LAW
On December 12, 2018, the 2018 Federal Farm Bill was approved by the U.S. Senate. On December 14, 2018, The House of Representatives approved the bill removing Industrial Hemp CBD, not including Marijuana, from any schedule controlled substance list. Today, the President signed the bill into law!
With Canada legalizing cannabis nationwide in October, 2018 and the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill completely removing hemp from the DEA’s controlled substances list, the stage has been set for an explosion of products ranging from functional foods and supplements to CBD-based Biopharma, Phytoceuticals (plant-based), and Nutriceuticals (medicinal uses of plants and herbs) into a projected $22+ Billion industry.
CBD is the acronym for Cannabidiol, an active ingredient in industrial hemp and marijuana, both coming from the genome DNA or family name “Cannabis”. The molecule Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is extracted from the hundreds of Cannabinoids and Terpenes identified in hemp and is the only ingredient that can get people “high”. That Cannabis will be referred to here as Marijuana. According to the World Health Organization, “In humans CBD [without THC] exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential, the two factors that determines if a drug is placed on the Federal Schedule 1 Controlled Substance list. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”
In the following weekly articles, we will inform you about Federal oversight on producing and selling CBD products, discuss what we mean by “pure” CBD, CBD Isolate, full spectrum, the many elements of human and animal grade CBD, and how to dose CBD oil products for kids, adults, seniors and pets.
Rather than numbing the brain to control pain and certain diseases, or ingesting pharmaceuticals through the stomach, blood stream, kidneys and finally through the liver, CBD oil interacts with a myriad of connected receptors throughout the body like turning a pain light switch from on to off directly at the spot of the pain, and just that fast.
But pain is not the only value of ingesting CBD and rubbing it on topically, the hundreds of Cannabinoid molecules along with more than 200 known Terpenes found in hemp, the list of scientific research is getting longer for such ailments as anxiety, inflammation diseases such as arthritis, hyperactivity, PTSD, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s Disease, insomnia, reduction of seizure activity, and generally boosting the immune system – all from one of the oldest natural growing plants on earth… Hemp. It grows like a weed!
